Proud teacher of the St. Aloysius 4th Grade class, Mr. Gre, shares a photo he took of his students this year. What a happy group of kids!

"Miss Kim" Hruby's Kindergarten class been "babysitting" caterpillars until they ready to become beautiful butterflies. On September 9th, the class experienced its first hatch - on the same day as Aide Miss Emily's birthday! Once the butterfly learned how to use her wings, Miss Emily helped the students release the butterfly in Mary's Garden on the school grounds. What a beautiful experience for everyone (especially the butterfly)!

Every summer, Mrs. Hruby challenges students to participate in a "Battle of the Books" competition to keep kids reading while school is out of session. This past summer, 16 students in grades 4-6 took on the challenge! Participants broke out into teams of 3-4 students, read a total of 12 books, then tested their knowledge of these books in a scavenger hunt and a genre sorting game! Our winning team scored 35 out of 36 points! Now that's a group of smarties!

The 5th Grade has a new "pet" in the classroom - Betty the Tortoise! Betty was a gift from the Brum family who recently moved out of state. Betty was introduced to the rest of the school at recess last week. Kids in 3rd-5th grade enjoyed watching Betty chase after dandelions.

Students at St. Aloysius School took time for a group photo on September 7th while shielding their eyes from the blinding sun! We are thrilled to have so many students enrolled in our school and thank God for our bright future!

This week, our 5th graders took on a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) challenge - build the tallest freestanding tower possible with 100 index cards and 2 feet of masking tape! Look at the determination on those faces! Great job, students!

Mrs. Hruby's adventurous 5th grade students visited the MacKenzie Center in Poynette again this past Tuesday and learned some important outdoor survival skills. They learned how to build a shelter, build a fire, and use a GPS device for emergency survival situations. Just in time for outdoor summer exploring!

Grandparents Day was held on Wednesday, May 25th and despite the rain, the day was filled with joy and sunshine! Among the activities planned, grandparents enjoyed a Mass with students, stage performances, poems, and musical performances (including instruments)! It was a day filled with memories that will last a lifetime!

Today the students at St. Aloysius School completed their 4-mile walk-a-thon (rescheduled from last Friday due to the risk of inclement weather). The goal of the event was to raise $20,000 to support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and our students raised $30,000 in pledges instead! What an amazing event! Special thanks too Eric Breunig and Julie Wuerger from the St. Aloysius Home & School Association for their leadership and coordination of this super successful event! Great job, kids!

Mrs. Krejchik stopped by the Donuts & Muffins event on Thursday to introduce her precious newborn, Isabella Mae, to her school family. Adorable!

This morning the St. Aloysius Home & School Association held a "Donuts with Dad and Muffins with Mom" event to gather families together with their students for breakfast before school. We had an amazing turnout and are blessed to have such a vibrant school community!

Students at St. Al's participated in Special Interest Day last Friday, May 13th! This is an annual event where students learn new and different skills from teachers, parents and volunteers. Here's a few of the special classes the students experienced:
